& just like that I fell off the face of the earth....

My title of this post basically sums it up! Life got real crazy and got real crazy fast!!! After the death of my granddad and changes at work I had NO time to spend reading or writing blog posts. Now that things have slowed down a bit I am back to reading blogs and trying to catch up on all that's been going on in blog world! I'm currently enjoying  Bethany Beach, DE with family, my boyfriend and friends and it's been sooo relaxing! I plan on being back sometime this week (maybe) or when I return from vacation to share some pinterest inspirations and some of my own!

Hope everyone has been enjoying their summer breaks, I'm off to enjoy some more Strawberry Colada's :)

Gone Buggy!

I can't seem to pull myself away from Law & Order SVU, Storage Wars or House Hunters tonight...it's just one of those night where I don't feel like accomplishing much. I did however just post a fun little bug mini unit that I plan on using with my kiddos in the next couple of weeks. Visit my TPT or TN shops to take a peak. First one to comment gets a FREE copy, just be sure to leave your email :)

I've also been given the Lovely blog award from several ladies and I promise I will get on that really soon. :) I also plan on visiting Christmas Tree Shops & the Dollar Tree this weekend so I will post any good finds.

Happy Almost Hump Day! :)

Hip Hip Hooray! It's the 100th day :)

Hello Ladies (& gentlemen?)

Yesterday was our 100th day of school and since I teach AM & PM Pre-K I got to celebrate it twice! I like to party but...let me just say I was exhausted afterwards! I've been fighting a sinus infection for a while so that makes for a more tiring day. Here are a few pictures from our 100th day! I'm going to go ahead and apologize in advance for the crummy quality of some of these photos.

We Charted what we would buy with $100! This list makes me smile because my little's don't understand the value of $100. :) If you are noticing the 100 on the post it note...we went on a hunt around the classroom for the number 100 and this was just one of our hiding places! We also read this adorable 100 days of school book. If you have not read this one it's a must!
We used the 100th day sorting mats from Jenn @ Finally in First to make our fruit loop necklaces. My kiddos did a GREAT job at counting by 10's.
My afternoon class is a little younger so we didn't do the fruit loop necklaces and decided to count out 100 stickers and put them on a I can Count 100 things mat. :)

I found these crowns last year from the Virtual Vine website and I decided to do them again! I used bulletin board boarder (that's a mouth full) to attach the crown...they were adorable!! I also had the students bring in a show n' tell that represented the 100th day! We had some really great show n' tells! Some students brought in 100th day shirts, some collected 100 items in a Ziploc bag and some created artwork out of 100 items.

Here's the mail it makes me....

remember that catchy little tune from Blues Clues? HAH. We've been busy talking about mail  and today we ended our mail unit by visiting the Post Office! We are lucky to have a post office literally behind our school playground! We bundled up and were off to send our families their Valentine's. When We got back we read this hilarious book called Mille waits for the Mail.

Here are a few pictures of activities we completed during our mail unit! I of course forgot to take pictures of our centers during this unit so just imagine cute mail centers. :)

We practiced our sequencing skills with this cute little sheet!
We made Postal Service Hats! You can find this template at Making Learning Fun :)
We charted things we could send in the mail, delivered mail in our pretend post office and practiced writing and reciting our address's too!

Tomorrow is our 100th day of school so I will be back with a post soon. Happy Tuesday Y'all!

Love a Pitbull :)

Almost 99% of the people I meet while walking my pup love all over his big ol' ears and love on his cuteness. Then they ask his breed and take big steps back, calm down people just because he is a  Pit Bull does not mean he is going to bite your head off. Meet Jager, the biggest baby and the most loving dog I've ever met.

Give them a chance! Love a Pit bull :)
Happy Friday!

Pour me another!

Today I forgot my lunch.....so  I drove the speed limit sped to the grocery store to grab a little something to eat for lunch. Let's be honest who goes to the store and buys only what they came for...if you do TEACH ME HOW! Anyways, as I was running through the store like a mad woman trying to find something to cram down my throat I found this.....

HOLY MOLY! Y'all I love me some coffee and heck I love me some ice cream!  when I saw this I about did a little dance in the store, my two favorite things can be turned in to one! Can't wait to try it in the morning, I hope it tastes as good as I'm hoping it will!

Happy almost Friday everyone!!

We've been busy!

Woo wee, we have been very busy this month! We had freezing rain last night (yuck) so we had a delayed opening...does anyone else love delays? I feel like I have more time to primp, watch old shows like Home Improvement & Saved By The Bell  and have a little extra coffee!! It's still raining here tonight and it's awfully foggy...maybe another delay in the morning? (I'm not getting my hopes up!)

We've been busy recently doing all things winter in our classroom! The kiddos have been enjoying all the winter centers we have right now. I snapped some pictures of my sweeties in action, please disregard the crummy iphone photos it's hard to snap pictures with out there little faces in them.

This little  center is to reinforce number recognition and counting. The students have a bin of buttons and must place the correct amount of buttons on the snowman. So simple, yet so fun!
 Marshmallow Counting is a FAVORITE!
This little center I didn't make but it is super cute! Uppercase & Lowercase matching From Child Care Land.

We read the book The Jacket I Wear In The Snow when we discussed winter wear. Each student had a chance to draw something they wear in the snow, this little cutie chose boots! I'm so tickled at how well some of them can write, I hope their Kindergarten teachers are proud. :)

We used these super cute pieces to re-tell the story. This was a HUGE hit with everyone. You can snag these pieces at the Making Learning Fun website!!
Today we celebrated the Chinese New Year, oh what fun we had! I didn't take too many pictures but we really did have a blast doing all sorts of celebrating. We ate snack on our Chinese place mats, made dragons, drank tea, graphed who liked fortune cookies and who didn't and learned how to say Happy New Year in Chinese! Happy Monday loves!

Beach Bound.

I promised I'd be back with more pictures and all those school goodies I want to share...but I'm just not feeling it tonight. It's awfully rainy and gloomy here and I just feel like lounging in my pajamas and watching TV. I'm off to my family's beach house early Friday morning with my boyfriend and I am ecstatic! Although, the weather isn't going to look like this...

I'm looking forward to going shopping at the outlets, spending lots of time next to the fireplace, playing games, sipping wine and enjoying the company of my love! I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend and hopefully once I get back from my vacay, I will be much more motivated to post school related items :) I'm off to finish my sub plans, yuck!

A very long post!

Sorry for being MIA but schools been all sorts of busy since we've gotten back. We've been busy learning all about winter animals and let me tell you my little sweeties have been eating it up. We started our unit by brainstorming animals we could find in the winter, then we read the story Animals in Winter by Henrietta Bancroft and charted any new animals we may have learned about.

To go with our winter animals talk we made this little craftivity. It's a "blanket of snow" covering some of our winter animals.  This crafitivity is just a piece of construction paper, some winter animals that we cut out, plastic wrap stapled to the construction paper and white paint. On the back of each paper students wrote what their favorite winter animal was and some even added a picture of the animal too. It's a simple craftivity, but often the simplest tasks are their favorite things :)

We moved on to polar bears next, one of my favorite winter animals. I visited the San Diego Zoo recently and took lots of photos of the polar bears so we began our discussion with those. We read the book Follow The Polar Bears by Sonia W. Black, after reading we charted what we learned about polar bears. (Please ignore the fast messy writing their 4 & 5 and I don't have time for perfection ;) Charting is one of our new favorite things to do at circle ,we like to see how many answers we can fit on one piece of paper and see how many facts we remember from the books. We learned that polar bears have no fingers so we tried painting with socks on to see what it would feel like to have no fingers. After we painted with socks I asked the kids what they thought about the activity, many of them thought it was very hard to paint a real picture. They had a blast with this activity, it will definitely be one I do again :)

We started talking about penguins today! It was perfect timing too because we are on the letter Pp in our handwriting books! I'm cracking up right now at how horrible my penguin is on our penguin fact chart hahah oh well the babes loved it and that's all that matters!

Here's to a great week y'all, I hope to be back soon with some more winter animal stuff and what our centers look like right now :)
